Gastronomic visits and experiences

The grill is the warm and well-loved place that really makes the most out of the different cuts of exceptional meat, seafood and fish that reach our harbours.
Orio’s seafaring tradition is palpable today in the success of small fishing boats and fishing activity that has put the region on the map.
In addition to the famous sheep cheeses, many of which come under the Idiazabal Designation of Origin, Aia also produces many with cow and goat milk.
The market was reopened in July 2009, after two years of restoration work. In the beginning, local farmers used to sell their excess produce, but now they produce with a view to selling.
Txakoli of Getaria, the essence. Its elaboration and history will be exposed in our visit in a family winery of D.O Getariako txakoliña, which includes tasting of anchovy or tuna and pintxos.
In Zumaia bay, it was habitual to catch octopus and, along with them, limpets, winkles, mussels, crawfish, txoazkiñak (warty crabs), velvet crabs, sea urchins and more.
